Evernote’s Creative Studio team excelled at getting the most value out of limited resources. Our tight-knit team constantly challenged itself to do ten percent more, ten percent better. Nowhere was that more obvious than in our video production.
These product marketing videos were produced entirely in-house, under my creative direction. Our secret recipe began with an open creative process — everyone on the team was encouraged to contribute and critique, making the story tighter, the visuals sharper. I got my hands dirty too, providing script doctoring and voiceovers.
Keeping it focused and fun
Too often, videos like these settle for merely demonstrating features, or go to the opposite extreme of dazzle over substance. But from storyboards to scripts to motion, I kept the team focused on always telling the right story, speaking directly to the customer’s reality, frustrations, and hopes with a touch of humor and a sense of fun.
